What a thrill to post this picture - it speaks a thousand words...well actually $75,060 dollars...and was presented to Bedford Group at QGSA Guild meeting last night. For all the 'goss' head over to www.facebook.com/saquilters.

Congratulations to Faye, Lessa, Quilt Encounter Team, members and friends who arranged, managed, took part in or supported in any way the Bedford Mystery Quilt Fundraiser 2012.

An observation

I read in the paper that the District Council of Ceduna services a population of around 4000 people. I was surprised - I don't often think about populations - i.e. never - and it prompted me to consider the number of Quilters our Guild represents with members plus affiliated groups - an estimated 3000! ...and I realised that:

1. With a few more members we could populate a whole town such as Ceduna! and
2. What a great responsibility it is for our Guild Executive to interact with all these people.

Am I alone in being surprised at this?

Margie Berlemon & Girls on Track

CONGRATULATIONS to Margie Berlemon who has recently received an OAM - Member of the Order of Australia - for service to youth through executive roles in the Guilding movement at state and national levels, and to the commuity through young women's organisations.
Having been enlightened to the Girls on Track program when Margie was a QGSA guest speaker (Feb 2012) I think this is brilliant news and a well deserved award!
Please bring to Guild your donations for 'Girls on Track'. Items such as toothbrushes, combs, shampoo etc to be added to the gift bags for each group of 15 girls. http://www.bmaxe.com.au/html/girl-guides-story.cfm
